Three people were rushed to hospital and another was treated at the scene after a three-car pile-up in Canning Town caused a busy main road to be closed for over 10 hours. The crash happened on Newham Way A13 westbound near the junction with Prince Regent Lane A112 at about 11:30pm last night (31 March).

The London Air Ambulance had to attend but thankfully the injuries of the three motorists have been assessed to be non-life threatening and non-life changing, police said. The road has since been reopened but was closed just before midnight last night, reports traffic analyst Inrix, who says there was congestion all the way back to the Beckton Flyover. The road was closed in both directions initially but the eastbound side has been reopened.

Investigation work was carried out at the crash site. Hard barriers were installed in the westbound underpass. Google Maps traffic data shows that traffic is now back to normal since the road has reopened.
