Live: Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern trains blocked and cancelled with major disruption at rush hour at Euston

Several key routes into London have been cancelled or delayed this morning (June 19) at rush hour as major disruption is expected until at least 8am. The routes affected included Avanti West Coast which runs through London Euston and the London Northwestern Railway service that also stops at London Euston.

A safety inspection of the track at Crewe means all lines are currently blocked. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes o revised. Major disruption is expected until 8am.

The full list of routes affected includes:

  • Avanti West Coast between Glasgow Central / Edinburgh / Holyhead and Birmingham New Street, between Glasgow Central and Wolverhampton, between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central / Lancaster / Blackpool North / Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street / Chester / Holyhead / Crewe and London Euston, and also between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe
  • CrossCountry between Manchester Piccadilly and Birmingham New Street / Bournemouth
  • East Midlands Railway between Newark Castle / Nottingham and Crewe
  • London Northwestern Railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe / Birmingham International, between Crewe and Stafford / Birmingham New Street / Northampton / London Euston
  • Northern between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe
  • Transport for Wales between Manchester Piccadilly and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen, between Holyhead / Chester and Crewe and also between Crewe and Shrewsbury / Birmingham International
