Live Ilford traffic after car crashes into van and traffic lights with 12 London buses on diversion

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a crash in Ilford between a car and van, with the car then hitting traffic lights, The emergency services raced to Cranbrook Road at around 7am this morning (May 2) to reports of a crash.

There they found the two people who were both taken to A&E. Road closures are in place and 12 London buses are on diversion.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 6.48am on Thursday, May 2, to reports of a car in collision with a van and traffic lights on Cranbrook Road, Ilford. Officers attended and found that a 43-year-old man and a passenger were in the car.

“London Ambulance Service also attended. They were taken to a local hospital, his passenger with chest pains, he with head injuries and chest pain. Their condition was said to be not life-threatening. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.59am (May 2) to reports of a road traffic collision on Cranbrook Road, Illford. We sent two ambulances to the scene. We treated two patients at the scene and took one to hospital and one to an urgent care centre.”
