Live London Underground and National Rail updates as station closed after person hit by train

A London Underground and railway station is closed after a person was hit by a train. Stratford Station is closed, according to National Rail.

National Rail has said: “A person has been hit by a train between Romford and London Liverpool Street. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

“Stratford station is currently closed due to overcrowding- please do not attempt to travel from Stratford.” Major disruption is expected until 8.30pm tonight.

There is currently no service on the Elizabeth Line between Whitechapel and Shenfield, with severe delays on the rest of the line. Jubilee Line and Central Line trains are not stopping at Stratford station, TfL Access has said.

The British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for further information.
