A major motorway into London has been closed southbound following a crash this afternoon, Sunday, July 21. The M1 has been closed for four junctions – between Junction 4 near Elstree and Junction 1 near Wembley.
The crash itself happened between Junction 2 A1 Watford Way (Barnet By-Pass) Fiveways Corner and Junction 1 A406 North Circular (Staples Corner), traffic monitoring system Inrix says.
The Metropolitan Police are at the scene, but it is not yet known how serious the crash has been. A diversion route has been put in place to avoid the crash site itself. The emergency services have been contacted for further information about this incident.
