A crash on the southern M25 has meant miles of traffic has built up. The crash happened at Junction 6 for the A22 towards Godstone on the westbound side and was first reported at about 5am by traffic analyst service Inrix.
There is now ongoing recovery work at the site of the crash which has meant the exit slip road for Junction 6 has been closed. There is also one lane closed on the M25 itself, Inrix reports.
Traffic is not coping very well with reports of queues tailing back several miles. Google Maps traffic data indicates 9-mile queues reaching as far back from Godstone to Sevenoaks with delays of up to 50 minutes.
Lane one of three is closed going past the slip road. There is no roundabout at Junction 7 for the M23, so traffic can’t turn around until Junction 8 towards Reigate making matters worse.
