Live M25 traffic updates: Delays of up to 90 minutes expected after crash near Heathrow Airport

Delays across the M25 are disrupting drivers this afternoon (Friday, April 26). There are delays of up to 90 minutes on the M25 clockwise in Surrey due to a crash that closed the road in both directions between J24 Staines and J14 Heathrow Airport.

The road has now reopened but there are still long residual delays.

Drivers should allow extra time and consider alternative routes, advises National Highways.

Also in Surrey, one lane is closed anticlockwise from J11 A320 St Peters Way in Chertsey to J10 A3 on Wisley Interchange. There is a broken vehicle with queuing traffic.

In Essex, there is traffic clockwise from J27 M11 J6 to J28 A12 near Brentwood/Brook Street Roundabout due to an accident.

There are long delays with two lanes closed out of four. Emergency services are on the scene, reports traffic and travel monitoring website Inrix. It adds there is queuing traffic on the opposite side due to onlookers.

Also in Essex, there are delays anticlockwise at J26 A121 Honey Lane near Waltham Abbey due to a broken down lorry, which has now been removed. The lane has reopened on an exit slip road and traffic is mostly back to normal. Extra traffic is diverting from the M11 at J27.

In Berkshire, there is queuing traffic anticlockwise from J13 in Stains to J12 M3 with congestion to J14 Heathrow Airport. There was an accident, but it’s now on the hard shoulder. It has been stopped just before the M3 since 12.15pm, but it reopened 1pm.

In Kent, there is one lane closed clockwise after J5 M26/A21 near Sevenoaks with emergency repairs taking place. There are three lanes still open. Traffic is coping well.
