The QE2 Bridge connecting Kent and Essex is closed due a police incident, according to traffic service Inrix. The bridge, known as the Dartford Crossing, has been closed since around 9am on Tuesday (May 7), but the nature of the incident remains unknown. Essex Police have been approached for an update.
Inrix currently says the bridge is closed clockwise from J31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet) to J1A A206 (Dartford), with congestion to almost J29 Romford, and A13 queues back past Grays.
It comes as drivers were already facing severe delays around the M25 near Heathrow, Potters Bar, and Brentwood due to a combination of roadworks, a broken down lorry, and an accident.
