A driver has been rushed to hospital after flipping over a crash barrier on the M25 this morning (Thursday, April 4). Police say the Vauxhall Astra left the carriageway between junctions six and five shortly before 7am.

Following the crash the car tumbled down the embankment before coming to a stop on Water Lane. Surrey Police has confirmed the driver is in hospital and is receiving treatment. No other injuries have been reported.

All four lanes of the M25 anticlockwise between junctions six and five remain closed. Water Lane is also closed northbound after the junction with Park Road. Police say the closures will remain in place for several hours while investigation work takes place.
