Buying a pallet of Amazon returns is always a risk as you never know what you’re going to get, but YouTuber Connor was amazed with what was inside and knew he was about to make a huge profit

One money-savvy bloke struck gold after buying an extortionate Amazon returns pallet, not knowing what would be lurking inside.

YouTuber Connor, who goes by the name ConnorTV on YouTube, coughed up $675 (£547) for the huge load of unwanted goods. Excited by the find, Connor boasted that he was going to make a “crazy profit” from its contents.

The lucrative pallets are brimming with items that have been returned by Amazon shoppers. But the catch is that brave buyers never know what products they will end up with. You could hit the jackpot with a Shark vacuum, or fail miserably with a broken toaster – there’s no guarantees.

Connor explained that he was at Detroit Pallet Liquidation, a warehouse offering liquidated merchandise, usually untouched, from retailers without the huge markup costs. People will usually “pallet flip” which means they will purchase a pallet of boxes, and then sell the liquidated products on for a higher price and make a profit.

He started from the top of the mountain of boxes and said he was “going big or going home” as he unloaded a huge box from the top. He opened it up to find a wireless vacuum cleaner, and although it appeared to have been used, he wasn’t too bothered, and after a quick search saw they were on sale for $290 (£229).

Impressed with his first box and starting well, other items Connor came across were extendable garden hedge trimmers, clay garden plant pots, lots of artwork, an air purifier, a blow-up lounge chair which he said would be a “hard sell”, as well as floor tiles and a portable chair backpack to which Connor said no matter what else he has in the pallet, he is happiest with the chair backpack.

He excitedly stated: “Everything we have pulled out so far has been a banger.” However, the one item that got him the most excited was a DJ soundboard mixing decks. The YouTuber excitedly said: “This is huge, I think this may have just paid for the whole pallet.”

After searching it up, he found out they go for just under $200 (£158), and he was close to breaking even with just half of the items he’d opened so far. “We’re around halfway and it’s safe to say we’ve definitely made a profit so far,” Connor gushed.

He then opened the next box which he was excited about as he pulled out a metal detector. He said: “This one feels pretty nice and we’ve even got some headphones too. I am saying this is an Amazon steal and I reckon I can sell this for around 80 bucks,” and called it the “ultimate Facebook Marketplace seller.

More items included a Disney Christmas train set which was being sold for $290 (£229), a foldable lap desk, a baby carrier, an office chair, a panini sandwich maker, and even a blow-up mattress. However, it wasn’t all good as he pulled out a calendar for 2023, folded up car mats, a broken stone bath mat and a lot more floor mats which he said he was “fed up” looking at and hoped he wouldn’t come across anymore – to which he then opened up yet another rug.

“This is my favourite item so far” Connor excitedly stated, as he pulled out squares of fake grass and added: “If it doesn’t sell straight away, I might just hang it up on my wall.”

Talking about his pallet, he explained: “I am completely satisfied with this one. I think I can make a huge profit off this thing.” He added: “We have 100 per cent made a profit off this. This has been a blast and we’ve literally got a lot of stuff and my basement is about to be packed but I’m about to sell a whole bunch of stuff.” Overall, he estimated he was about to make an impressive $2466 (£1954).

People loved his video, as one YouTube fan wrote: “I really like how enthusiastic you are about the unboxing, you’re fun to watch,” while a second added: “I really want that metal detector! My favourite item was that backpack chair! Cool!”
