Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has addressed Alejandro Garnacho’s future amid interest from Chelsea.
The Blues have been heavily linked with signing Garnacho this summer as they aim to strengthen their wide forward options.
Chelsea have already signed Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and he plays on the left wing, which is typically Garnacho’s favoured position for United.
The Blues also sold Noni Madueke to Arsenal earlier in the summer, with Garnacho now emerging as a clear target to move to Stamford Bridge.
Garnacho was not included in the United squad which travelled to the United States for their pre-season tour.
The Manchester Evening News reported earlier in the summer that the Argentina international would be allowed to leave Old Trafford if a suitable offer was to arrive.
Amorim has now spoken about the possibility of Garnacho leaving United, hinting that a move may be on the cards in the near future, which may be of interest to Chelsea.

“I think Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he’s talented, he’s a really talented boy,” Amorim told reporters in the United States.
“And sometimes things don’t work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is.
“But I have the feeling, I think it’s clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. So I think it’s not a problem.
“Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players. So, it’s a natural thing in football.”
Chelsea have until September 1 to complete their transfer business for the summer, and are currently working on a deal to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax and Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.
Chelsea can end the 2024/25 Premier League season on a high, but it is never quiet at Stamford Bridge and the summer looks set to be one full of news, with Enzo Maresca looking for transfer to bolster his squad.
