Meghan Markle ‘could be extremely successful in beauty industry’ ahead of the launch of her brand American Riviera Orchard, it has been claimed by a public relations guru

Meghan Markle could be extremely successful in the beauty industry, it has been claimed as the Duchess gears up to launch American Riviera Orchard.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, soft launched her new business venture on Instagram earlier this month. Creating a brand new page, debuting a swish logo and sharing a rustic-looking promotional video clip, Meghan left fans excited by her new lifestyle brand and quickly amassed more than half a million followers.

Since the Instagram page popped up online and American Riviera Orchard was confirmed as being by the Duchess, it was later reported that she is looking to gain trademarks for exclusive rights to sell many items under the brand name. Some of the alleged products that Meghan could sell are cosmetic products, home décor, stationery, linens, small kitchen appliances, condiments and pet food.

But amid the reports of Meghan potentially looking to sell makeup, cosmetic and beauty items, a public relations guru has weighed in on what this could mean for the mother-of-two and whether or not it will be successful.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR said: “Meghan has the potential to make a name for herself in the cosmetic industry. Love her or hate her, one thing you can say about her is that she looks good, she knows how to use the right creams and make-up to accentuate her features and make her skin look good.”

Lynn then said that she is “certain” that American Riviera Orchard is “trying to emulate the success of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand, whose products are expensive and have received criticism over the years, but the company is now worth £250 million, so there is definitely a market for them among affluent women”.

She added: “Meghan also knows the power of social media for her business. Just look at Kylie Jenner’s makeup brand that became extremely successful, thanks to her social media following.”

Concluding her expert analysis, Lynn noted that “Meghan has a loyal fan base”, adding: “And if she were to start selling beauty products, the ‘Meghan effect’ could lead her fans to buy any product she endorses.

“Even with a low popularity rating in polls across the globe, Meghan has over 580,000 followers on the American Riviera Orchard account with no posts, proving her own strong fan base.”
