It could be a busy summer for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta looks to take his young team to the next level.
The Gunners have performed sensationally throughout the 2023/24 campaign, challenging Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title as well as reaching the Champions League quarter-finals. But for the north Londoners to keep progressing they may need to be active in the summer transfer window.
A striker is the position which has been spoken about the most, with Arteta himself admitting his side do not have a prolific No.9 following the defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Speaking to CBS Sports the Spaniard said: “We have been the team that has scored more goals in the Premier League.
“From everywhere, because of the reality is we don’t have a striker that is going to score 35 or 40 goals. So we have to live with that, we have many other qualities. Today is a day to stick behind the players, because they have given us so much and have taken us on this journey.”
football.london understands that Edu Gaspar is interested in recruiting a striker this summer and one of the players being looked at is RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko. The 20-year-old has 13 goals and two assists in 37 appearances for the Bundesliga side this season.

Sesko has a €50million (£42.7million) release clause in his contract that is due to become active in the summer, reports Evening Standard. Compared to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, that appears to be a reasonable price for a forward of Sesko’s calibre.
The Slovenia international mainly operates at centre forward but can play in the wide positions, which will give Arteta more options should he make the move to Emirates Stadium. So, what would Arsenal’s best starting XI be if Sesko were to sign in the summer? football.london takes a look below!
