Chelsea stormed past Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final on Sunday evening, lifting their second piece of silverware of the season. The Blues enjoyed a 3-0 win at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford and banked around £100m in prize money.

While Enzo Maresca and his players put their feet up, higher-ups at Stamford Bridge will be working hard to bolster the squad. The west Londoners still need to get their hands on a new goalkeeper and some backup for Marc Cucurella.

There’s a lot of work to be done, but there’s plenty of time to finalise any remaining business. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Chelsea news and transfer gossip.

Premier League rivals eye Chelsea striker

According to French journalist Nabil Djellit, Aston Villa and Manchester United have contacted Chelsea to enquire about Nicolas Jackson’s availability. The 24-year-old striker faces a somewhat uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, having fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The report claims that the ‘door is open’ for Jackson this summer, and a decision will be made imminently. It’s said that Napoli are also interested in signing the Senegal international, with Antonio Conte eager to bolster his frontline.

football.london says: “Nicolas Jackson should stay and fight for his place in the Chelsea starting lineup. He’s fallen behind Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the pecking order this summer, but he could very quickly reestablish himself as the main man in pre-season.”

Next Chelsea transfer decided

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will send Mike Penders on loan to Strasbourg once Djordje Petrovic joins Bournemouth. The 19-year-old goalkeeper, who the Blues signed from Genk last year, was part of Maresca’s squad in the United States this summer.

The report claims that a move to the French outfit is concrete and it’s viewed as the ‘ideal solution’. It’s said that the Blues rate Penders as a ‘future top goalkeeper’.

football.london says: “This is brilliant for Mike Penders. He could very well replace Robert Sanchez between the sticks at Stamford Bridge next year.”

Inter consider Nkunku swoop

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan have shortlisted Christopher Nkunku as a potential target this summer. The report claims that Cristian Chivu wants to bolster his attacking options at the San Siro, so the Chelsea forward will be considered as a replacement for Mehdi Taremi.

The report claims that Inter favour Lois Openda from RB Leipzig at the moment. The Nerazzurri have already signed Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma, and they’ve decided to keep Francesco Pio Esposito following an impressive season in the Serie B.

football.london says: “I wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea cash in on Christopher Nkunku this summer. It would be best for both parties. The Blues could get a good fee for him following some good performances at the Club World Cup.”
