Nicolas Jackson is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Chelsea, with the deal including an obligation for the German giants to sign the striker on a permanent basis

Nicolas Jackson is keen to stay at Bayern Munich beyond his season-long loan – despite Uli Hoeness insisting the striker will never be able to activate the purchase option in his agreement.

Jackson managed to secure his departure from Stamford Bridge during the summer, but only after being persistent with the transfer. The Senegalese forward travelled to Germany to finalise his switch, only to be instructed by Chelsea to return after they lost Liam Delap to injury.

Jackson declined and secured his move to the Bavarian club after Chelsea recalled Marc Guiu, with Bayern stumping up a £14.3million loan fee.

Hoeness made public the specifics surrounding the purchase element of the player’s loan deal and indicated that his temporary move from Chelsea would “never” become permanent due to the conditions.

Jackson’s loan to Bayern features a £56.2million obligation to buy next season, but Hoeness maintained that would only be activated if the player appeared 40 times – something he claimed wouldn’t occur.

He told Sport1: “It’s not a €16.5million loan fee, because the player and his agent are contributing €3million, so that leaves €13.5million and there will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start. He will never do that.”

Despite the circumstances working against him Jackson, who has netted three goals in 12 outings for Bayern, is determined to impress sufficiently to secure a permanent move. The Sun reports that he’s relishing life in Germany and wishes to stay beyond this campaign.

A source told the publication: “Jackson has just come off an impressive international period where he scored twice for his country, and he made a big impression against Brazil the other night. Now he’s going back to Germany to continue helping the club, and I can tell you that is all he’s focused on, playing and helping the club achieve their aim of winning big trophies. At the end of the season, we will see what happens.”

Jackson netted 30 times during his two campaigns with the Blues, but it became apparent that Enzo Maresca was looking for improvements in the summer.

Joao Pedro was brought in from Brighton and before that Delap was purchased from Ipswich – which resulted in Jackson slipping down the hierarchy. At the Allianz Arena he finds himself behind Harry Kane, who serves as the team’s primary striker.

Bayern have enjoyed a brilliant beginning to the campaign and Jackson could very well finish the season with silverware before a summer full of uncertainty.
