Prince Harry is said to have ‘scrapped his second book’ after ‘damaging’ the relationship he has with his dad King Charles when he released his first memoir Spare
The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has reportedly scrapped a follow-up book to his hugely successful first memoir, Spare.
A royal expert and author claims that the change in plan is due to the “damage” that Prince Harry’s book did to his relationship with his father, King Charles. Spare, which was Harry’s first hotly-anticipated tome, was ghost-written by J. R. Moehringer and published by Penguin Random House as part of the Sussexes’ four-book deal with the publisher back in 2023.
With 416 pages packed full of bombshells, there were soon claims that there was quite a lot Harry didn’t include, with it also previously claimed that there was enough material for him to write a second memoir. The Duke said shortly after the book’s publication that “there could have been two books”.

Speaking to the Telegraph, he admitted: “The hard bit was taking things out.” And now, Ingrid Seward has spoken out about how she believes the Duke won’t be releasing another tome after it “certainly damaged his relationship with his father” following Harry criticising Queen Camilla “so openly”.
“But you know, Charles has such a busy life, there’s so much going on, I don’t think he’s holding a grudge against Harry, I just think he’s withdrawn from Harry,” she said to 9honey. She then added how the King is now “very careful” around his son, with him likely worried that Harry is “taking notes. “I can’t see that Harry’s up for writing another book,” she added after touching on the Duke’s recent Good Morning America interview. She then added: “I would think the other book, the real corker, would be Meghan. That’s got to be [on it’s way] because that’s really going to be the only way she’s going to make serious money is [to write it].”
