The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly wish for ‘peace and quiet’ and want to avoid ‘all the drama a meeting would bring’ with a visit from the Duke of Sussex

Prince William and Princess Kate are reportedly ‘not interested’ in a visit from Prince Harry due to the ‘drama’ it would bring as the Princess of Wales focuses on her cancer treatment and recovery.

Last week Kate revealed she has been undergoing cancer treatment after it was found following abdominal surgery in January, which has kept her away from public duties and appearances. As she confirmed her health update via a moving video address, it’s thought that she and Prince William might expect a visit from Prince Harry.

However sources claim a visit from the Duke of Sussex would be unwelcome at this time as William and Kate “are content to let sleeping dogs lie” and avoid “drama” as they wish for “peace and quiet”.

According to a report in the Daily Beast, a friend of the Prince and Princess of Wales said they had been “clear they want peace and quiet… A visit from Harry, with all the drama that would bring, would be the opposite of that.” Another source also told the outlet that “they have come to terms with the estrangement from Harry, and are content to let sleeping dogs lie”.

In the wake of the Princess of Wales revealing to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer, it had been thought that Prince Harry and Prince William could be reunited even in brief conversations with distancing in place. Harry is set to return to the UK in May for a celebration of the Invictus Games, with a meeting between the brothers thought likely.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn claimed any meeting would be “carefully choreographed” as he exclusively told the Mirror : “Given Kate’s cancer diagnosis, Harry will certainly make efforts to see his brother and Kate when he returns to the UK in May – if it happens at all it’s to be a very brief carefully choreographed meeting and organised to last a short time so that the brothers can avoid any difficult conversations.”

In response to the Princess of Wales ‘ health news being made public on Friday, with the young mother-of-three announcing the news to the world at 6pm GMT on Friday (March 22) in a moving video, Harry and Meghan shared a short statement. They said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

However they are reported to have reached out privately, with ITV ‘s royal editor Chris Ship revealing that Prince Harry “reached out to his brother” after learning of Kate’s cancer. Mr Ship also added: “Harry and Meghan have both been in touch with their brother/sister-in-law but did so privately. It not clear if that was a phone/video call or some messages of support.”
