Enzo Maresca will be desperate to end the Premier League season with a win. Nottingham Forest and Chelsea will battle it out for a place the UEFA Champions League at the City Ground on Sunday, May 25.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side held the Blues to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge back in October. Chris Wood fired Forest ahead shortly after half-time before Noni Madueke found an equaliser on the hour mark.

The Blues dominated possession and took far more shots on goal, but they couldn’t breach the visitors’ low block. While Maresca puts his players through their paces at Cobham this week, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley will be laying the foundations to a busy summer transfer window.

So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Chelsea news.

Chelsea eye Arsenal target

Chelsea have turned their attention to Jorrel Hato after missing out on Dean Huijsen, according to TEAMTalk. The report claims that ‘internal discussions’ about the 18-year-old defender are ongoing at Stamford Bridge.

It’s said that the Blues face tough competition from Liverpool, AC Milan and Arsenal for Hato’s signature. TEAMTalk adds that the Netherlands international, who made his 100th appearance for Ajax in March, has been given a price tag in the region of €50m (£42m).

football.london says: “Jorrel Hato would be a good signing for Chelsea, so long as they can offload the likes of Benoit Badiashile and Ben Chilwell. I anticipate that the teenager would be brought in as hybrid cover for Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella.”

Cherki announces Lyon exit

Rayan Cherki has announced that he’ll leave Olympique Lyonnais this summer. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge a couple of years ago before Chelsea decided to sign Cole Palmer instead.

Following the French club’s final game of the season on Saturday night, as quoted by Liverpool.com, Cherki said: “I’m ready to try a new chapter in my career. Thanks to OL, the coach, the staff, the president, my teammates and all people at the club.”

football.london says: “As much as I’d love to see Chelsea sign a player like Rayan Cherki, Enzo Maresca is already spoiled for choice. He’d either feature on the right or in the middle as an attacking midfielder, which are two positions that the Blues don’t need to bolster this summer.”

Sesko begins search for a new club

According to Fabrizio Romano, Benjamin Sesko is expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer after the German outfit failed to secure European football. The 21-year-old striker has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea in the past.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Premier League clubs are also in the mix for Benjamin Sesko. The expectation remains for Benjamin Sesko to leave.

“We know he’s an option for Arsenal, we know he’s an option for several clubs in England because many of them are looking for a striker. So the situation will start to move from next week for Benjamin Sesko.

“But, he’s another player who is going to be on the move this summer because there is no European football. It’s going to be time to go.”

football.london says: “I have no doubt that Benjamin Sesko would be a good signing for Arsenal or Chelsea. What worries me is his price tag. I fear that RB Leipzig will demand an unreasonably eye-watering fee. He’s good. He’s promising. But he’s not the final product.”
