Move over Maccies – Shake Shack just dropped its new breakfast menu filled with tater tot deliciousness. However, not everybody will be able to get their hands on the new items

Tater tot lovers rejoice – Shake Shack just dropped its mouthwatering breakfast menu.

The fast-food chain first came to the UK back in 2013, and quickly became a hit amongst Brits. Now, there are 15 stores and counting – with a new branch opening this summer in St Pancras International.

But Shake Shack’s breakfast offerings have only ever been available at Gatwick Airport – meaning you’d have to jet off to Spain just to grab a bite. Here, you could order the Sausage, Egg and Cheese; Bacon, Egg and Cheese, or the Egg and Cheese sandwich. However, all of that is about to change…

The burger joint is bringing its breakfast menu to two more UK locations (both in London…for now) as well as launching two new items. The delicious-sounding Wake Up Shack burger features egg, applewood-smoked bacon, American cheese, tater tots, and a ‘special Shack breakfast sauce’.

The chain has also partnered with Volcano Coffee Works to bring a much-needed cup of Joe to your mornings. However, the breakfast menu, which launches on April 2, will only be available from the Canary Wharf and Maison House outlets from 8am to 10.45am daily. Reports say the chain plans to expand its breakfast menu to other UK outlets in the future.

The exciting launch comes after McDonald’s unveiled its highly-anticipated Easter menu, which brought back three previously axed items. On March 13, the fast food giant also debuted two hot cross bun flavoured treats that sent fans into a frenzy.

Available for a limited time only, hungry customers can now opt for a Hot Cross Bun Pie (£1.99), Hot Cross Bun Latte (£2.69), or Galaxy Truffle Bunny McFlurry. Temporarily returning to menus nationwide include the iconic Cadbury Creme Egg McFLurry (£2.19), McCrispy Deluxe (£5.89) and Halloumi Fries (£2.79).
