Bobby Vincent predicts what Mauricio Pochettino will do on Thursday evening in terms of his team selection for Chelsea in their Premier League match with rivals Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to spark some form out of his Chelsea squad in the remaining five matches of the Premier League season. The Blues still have an outside shot of qualifying for European football by the end of the campaign.

To do that, though, a positive result against Tottenham on Thursday evening is an absolute must. Spurs, who themselves are looking to achieve Champions League qualification under Ange Postecoglou, are seven points behind fourth-place Aston Villa but do have two games in-hand on the Midlands outfit.

And from Spurs’ point of view, there perhaps is not a better time to be playing London rivals Chelsea. The Blues are without a staggering 14 first-team players for the match with Tottenham because of injury.

Pochettino delivered more bad news during Wednesday afternoon’s pre-match press conference. The Chelsea head coach confirmed nobody has recovered in time for the London derby while Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva have both been added to the dreaded injury list.

It gives Pochettino a few more headaches in terms of his team selection, but in a way it perhaps makes his life a bit easier regarding decision making. With that said, Bobby Vincent predicts what Chelsea XI will walk out onto the Stamford Bridge pitch to take on Tottenham on Thursday night.
