Superdrug has frozen the price of make-up brands including Rimmel, E.L.F, Maybeline and Studio London – but you should still make sure you always compare prices first

Superdrug has announced a price freeze across 5,000 popular make-up and beauty brands.

Some of the brands included in the new initiative include Rimmel, E.L.F, Maybeline and Studio London. These items will remain the same price until Summer 2024. The move comes after Superdrug recently removed 20%, the equivalent of VAT, from its own-brand dental range, ProCare.

However, you should still always shop around to make sure you’re getting the best price possible. Don’t assume that something is the cheapest just because it is discounted or on sale. You can compare prices using Google Shopping or through PriceRunner and PriceSpy.

Superdrug also recently shook up its loyalty scheme with a new “VIP Rewards” offering. Shoppers will have to reach a spend threshold to unlock a reward through its Health and Beautycard scheme. Once you’ve spent £300, you will reach VIP status and will get 12 months of “always on” offers and other monthly discounts.

“Always on” deals include 10% off own-brand products and beauty services. Shoppers get one point awarded for every £1 spent at Superdrug through the Health and Beautycard. You can spend points in multiples of 100, with 100 points worth £1.

Superdrug Trading Director, Megan Potter said: “We are thrilled to become the number one retailer for cosmetics. Our commitment to offering great quality and affordability to our customers is at the heart of everything that we do. As a leading health and beauty retailer, we pride ourselves on putting our customers first and we’re committed to making cosmetics more affordable for our shoppers and supporting them with the rising cost of living.”
