Last month, high street fashion retailer confirmed it was bringing in administrators and last week it announced that 15 stores would be shut permanently. 11 store closures were announced as part of the administration and will be shutting their doors for good on Friday April 19. A further four stores are closing after landlords served notice on the sites before the administration however no official closure dates have been confirmed for these.

Teneo Financial Advisory was appointed as administrator of No Ordinary Designer Label Limited which is owned by Authentic Brands Group and trades under the Ted Baker brand. The administrators said the store closures would help bring the Ted Baker Brand “back to health”

Areas which will see their Ted Baker stores close this Friday include Birmingham, Exeter, Leeds, Nottingham, and Oxford. The 11 stores closures will see around 120 people lose their jobs. The further four closures will impact another 100 workers and around 25 head office staff are also being made redundant.

Overall, Ted Baker has 46 stores in the UK and employs around 975 people in the UK. Before the administration, No Ordinary Designer Label Limited said the company had built up a “significant level of arrears” during a previous partnership and “damage” had been done.

Benji Dymant, joint administrator said: “Ted Baker is an iconic British brand with strong partners around the world. These store closures, whilst with a regrettable impact on valued team members, will improve the performance of the business, as Authentic continues to progress discussions with potential UK and European operating partners for the Ted Baker brand to bring the business back to health. We would like to thank Ted Baker team members and partners for their ongoing efforts and support at this difficult time.”
