Victor Osimhen has sent Chelsea a message ahead of the summer transfer window. The in-demand Napoli striker continues to be heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge- following an impressive loan spell at Galatasaray.

Osimhen, who has recently entered the final year of his contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, featured 30 times in the Süper Lig, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists. Playing a key role in Okan Buruk’s side, he fired the Turkish giants to a third successive title.

The Nigeria international also helped Galatasaray win the domestic double, even netting twice in the final against Trabzonspor. After defeating İstanbul Başakşehir 2-0 on Friday night, Osimhen lifted the Süper Lig trophy in front of supporters at the RAMS Park.

Galatasaray also wheeled out the Turkish Cup as they celebrated a brilliant season with the Napoli loanee. On Saturday evening, Osimhen marked the occasion with a post on Instagram.

Without a caption, the Nigerian uploaded a carousel of pictures from the post-match party. Earlier this week, Buruk provided an update on Osimhen’s future, shutting down rumours linking the striker with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to ‘I Just Spoke’, as quoted by Turkish outlet NTV Sport, the Galatasaray boss said: “Osimhen will look at the conditions. He’s very happy here at Galatasaray.

“He’s living the best days of his life. The player will decide about his future, as he’s made an incredible contribution here. We need to respect him but we are hopeful that he will stay with us.”

Buruk added: “He’s a professional player. There are talks about it but Osimhen will make the choice. He will look at the conditions. The part about Osimhen agreeing with the [Saudi] Arabian side is not true.”

Osimhen nearly joined Chelsea last summer, but a deal collapsed at the 11th hour, so he joined Galatasaray on loan instead. football.london understands that the Blues submitted a bid for the striker towards the end of the transfer window.

It’s believed that Chelsea wanted to sign Osimhen on a season-long loan – which included an obligation-to-buy clause. Despite the west Londoners’ best efforts, they couldn’t reach an agreement with the Italian giants before the deadline.

Osimhen went on to snub an ‘extortionate’ offer from Al-Ahli before then jetting off to Istanbul. In the meantime, Chelsea have set their sights on a new frontman.

football.london understands that the Blues are increasingly likely to sign Liam Delap this summer. The 22-year-old striker, who has a £30m release clause in his contract following Ipswich Town’s relegation from the Premier League, prefers a move to Stamford Bridge over Old Trafford.

It’s understood that Delap has given Chelsea the ‘green light’, with personal terms are not expected to be an issue. The England Under-21 international is keen to reunite with Maresca, who he played for during his time at the Manchester City academy a few years ago.

football.london understands that the Blues view Delap as a bargain for his talent and potential. Osimhen, on the other hand, would command an eye-watering transfer fee and wage packet.
