Chelsea have been linked to countless names ahead of the summer transfer window with Enzo Maresca confirming some big decisions will be made in the next 48 hours.

The Blues can end a somewhat turbulent campaign by winning a trophy with their Conference League final against Real Betis scheduled for this evening – three days on from a victory over Nottingham Forest which secured Champions League football.

With that as an incentive, Chelsea can certainly attract some big names and the addition of experience into a very young squad is needed.

Some departures being sealed will also add to the club’s summer budget with numerous names likely to depart Stamford Bridge permanently. With that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Chelsea transfer news.

New Osimhen message

Long-term target Victor Osimhen continues to be very active on social media following an excellent last few weeks at Galatasaray.

The latest of those was in response to a message from Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika, who is a fellow Nigerian international. He said: “The best [red heart emoji] @victorosimhen. The 26-year-old replied with three red heart emojis of his own.

football.london says: Osimhen is unsurprisingly enjoying the praise after helping Galatasaray win two trophies, but very quickly attention will swift onto his future.

An experienced striker coming in to help Nicolas Jackson is desperately needed and he is exactly that. Napoli are likely to demand a sizeable fee for his departure with Juventus also interested in acquiring his services.

As evidenced by what he has achieved this season, Osimhen’s arrival at Stamford Bridge will result in a winner coming into the club that has the right mentality to get Chelsea back to where they belong.

Maresca on Sancho and other transfer decisions

When answering a question about Jadon Sancho’s future, Maresca dropped a major transfer hint. “I don’t know,” he admitted in a press conference with it presented to him the final may be Sancho’s final game for the club.

“I said that when in the last weeks you asked me about different players, I always said the same. And the reason why is because it’s the truth. It’s not the moment we have tomorrow, final.

“Then in 24 hours, 48 hours, we’re going to start to talk about the future. But at this moment, there is not any thought or any decision made on Jadon or any different players.”

football.london says: With the season still not over for Chelsea, it makes sense that Maresca is yet to start focusing on transfers even with the summer window opening in just a few days.

For the Blues, due to their Club World Cup participation, making some signings early into the window will likely be an aim. That could also involve potential exits with a big decision needed on Sancho.

Given what he has shown while on loan from Manchester United, Chelsea should not activate the option to buy him permanently and just pay the punishment fee. Maresca’s comments could also apply to incomings with additions in attack the obvious priority.
