Tottenham will be looking to add more firepower to their attack in the summer, and last week’s loss to Crystal Palace showed just why Eberechi Eze is being linked with a move to Ange Postecoglou’s side.
After a poor Premier League campaign, which sees Spurs sit 17th in the table with just two games to go, Spurs have been criticised for their lack of creativity at times this season, with injuries to the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison not helping. Spurs will likely bolster their squad in attacking areas this summer, with Crystal Palace’s Eze linked with a move to north London.
The England international has 15 goals and assists in the Premier League so far this season, with the 26-year-old grabbing a brace in a 2-0 win over Spurs recently. So, if Eze signed for Spurs this summer, what could happen? Let’s take a look.
Tottenham’s 2025/26 season simulated with Eberechi Eze
To set up this simulation, we used Football Manager 2024 to move Eze to Spurs in the summer transfer window before simulating the 2025/26 season. Spurs also signed Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller alongside Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, with the latter joining on loan for the season.
Eze instantly became a regular in Spurs’ set-up, with the Englishman actually making more appearances than any other player over the course of the season. On top of that, he was also Spurs’ best player, with the 26-year-old averaging the highest rating per game (7.24) in the squad.
His numbers weren’t the highest with Eze scoring eight and assisting six goals all season, but he was one of the most creative, with the Englishman creating 89 chances in the Premier League, including a league-high 26 big chances.
At the end of the 2025/26 season, Football Manager 2024 put together an overall best Spurs XI, based on performances, statistics, and other metrics. This is what it looked like:
Full Spurs best XI: (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Stiller, Gray; Kulusevski, Maddison, Eze; Solanke.
Eze made Spurs’ best XI as he was regularly deployed on the left alongside Maddison and Kulusevski in the attacking midfield trio. Archie Gray became a regular in midfield alongside new signing Stiller, while Dominic Solanke led the line after scoring 14 goals in the Premier League.
Despite the additions to their squad, Spurs didn’t have the best league campaign ever, although it was better than this season. The Lilywhites were in a battle for the Europa League spots for most of the season, and a strong end to the campaign saw them claim their place in the European competition for the following campaign.
15 wins, 12 draws and 11 defeats saw Spurs end the season on 57 points, three more than Man United in eighth and six more than Crystal Palace in ninth. Spurs did come close to winning a trophy in the cup competitions though, but a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup final saw them fall short at the final hurdle.
