We are moving very close to the final month of the summer transfer window – and for Chelsea, there is still so much more business to get over the line.
It is now Monday morning – at the time of writing – and this coming week looks set to be a significant one for the Blues. In the pipeline, there are two possible additions being worked on, while the club continue their efforts in the background to offload the unwanted players.
Joao Felix is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Al-Nassr with the west Londoners set to receive €50million (£43.7million) for the 25-year-old forward, football.london understands. Felix is set to seal a move away from Stamford Bridge less than 12 months after returning to the English capital, but Chelsea are not done there in terms of outgoings.
Christopher Nkunku is also expected to leave the club this summer with the Frenchman seeking a move away. There is big interest in Nkunku, who joined the club two years ago for £52million, from elsewhere in the Premier League. Chelsea are open to selling the 27-year-old forward if a suitable offer arrives their way.
Elsewhere, Armando Broja, Raheem Sterling, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu and Renato Veiga will all be allowed to leave on permanent deals this summer, with Chelsea hoping there is some progress with at least a couple of them in the coming week. Kendry Paez, meanwhile, is expected to leave on loan in the near future with Strasbourg the favourites to sign the young Ecuadorian playmaker.

Chelsea will continue talks to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig this week. The Blues opened talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives a week ago and there is now understood to be a broad agreement in place regarding personal terms, but a fee for the Netherlands international is still being discussed between the two clubs.
football.london was told at the weekend that negotiations between Chelsea and Leipzig are progressing well and there is a confidence from all parties that Simons will complete a move to Stamford Bridge this summer. However, there is no agreement yet and the Blues will be hoping over the next few days, they can change that fact.
They will be hoping to do similar, too, in their pursuit of Jorrel Hato. The 19-year-old defender has made it clear to Ajax that he wishes to leave this summer with Chelsea pushing for his signature, while talks continue between the two clubs for the talented Dutch teenager.
Chelsea will be hoping to wrap up both deals in the coming days as Enzo Maresca’s squad takes shape for the upcoming season.
