Hello and welcome to football.london for live coverage of Mauricio Pochettino’s post-match press conference after the Argentine saw his Chelsea side edge Manchester United in a seven-goal thriller – in the most dramatic of fashion.
The Blues raced to an early 2-0 lead through goals from Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer and Stamford Bridge was electric. However, the hosts could not hold onto the lead.
A mistake from Moises Caicedo gifted Alejandro Garnacho a golden chance and United’s winger made no mistake in the one-on-one with Djordje Petrovic. Bruno Fernandes then ensured it was level going into the half-time break with a header at the back-post after some more lapse Chelsea defending.
Garnacho was then on hand to put United into the lead for the first time in what was an utterly crazy game in SW6. The Argentine winger headed past Petrovic after a fantastic cross from the right-hand side from Antony.
When stoppage time came, however, the script changed massively. Palmer scored a penalty after Noni Madueke was brought down in the box by Diogo Dalot. Then moments later, Palmer completed his hat-trick with a 101st minute winner to spark chaotic scenes at Stamford Bridge.
