The A282 Dartford Crossing is set for multiple closures throughout April. Overnight closures have already occurred on the crossing as maintenance work gathers pace this weekend.
Tonight (April 6) the QEII Bridge will shut between 10pm and 5am tomorrow morning. National Highways said the vital road connecting the M25 in Kent and Essex is being closed so routine safety inspections and maintenance can be carried out.
Kent-bound traffic will be diverted via the east tunnel, while vehicles heading towards Essex can use the west tunnel during the closure. Vehicles between 4.8 and 5 metres high will need to follow the diversion via the M25 clockwise.

Further closures are also expected on the Dartford Crossing for the next week. On Sunday (April 7) the east tunnel will close from 10pm until 5pm, and from 10pm until 5.30am from Monday, April 8 until Friday, April 12.
It will then close again during these hours from Sunday, April 14 until Wednesday, April 17. The west tunnel will also shut between 10pm and 5am on Saturday, April 13.
These routine works taking place on the Dartford Crossing include upgrading CCTV and lighting, waterproofing and replacing expansion joints on the viaduct among other improvements.
