Mikel Arteta press conference: Speaking to reporters, the Spaniard discussed the latest Arsenal injury news, Sunday’s clash with Chelsea and the midweek defeat of Bayern Munich.
Injury latest: Arteta was asked for an update on the club’s injured players, such as Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres.
On Trossard, Arteta said: “With Leo there is another test today, it didn’t look much. There is a potential chance he could be available.”
Quizzed on Havertz and Gyokeres, he said: “Yeah, we have another day tomorrow. So let’s see how it goes.”
Gabriel Magalhaes latest: “We have to wait for the scan a little bit longer. I am really confident the way that Gabi has evolved.”
Behind-closed-doors friendly truth: Arteta confirmed talk of a behind-closed-doors friendly with Jesus stepping up his return from injury. “Yeah it did happen, Gabi (Jesus) participated, Ethan (Nwaneri) as well, as he wanted some minutes. We took that opportunity.”
Arteta responds to Kimmich: The Bayern Munich star launched an attack on Arsenal after their defeat to Arteta’s side in midweek with the Spaniard replying “I know what he is saying, it’s part of the game, the game is provoked in that manner. It’s very understandable.”
