A man in his 40s has died after being hit by a car late at night. Emergency Services rushed to a crash between a pedestrian and a car on Risley Avenue at the junction with The Roundway, around Wood Green, at 1.02am today (Sunday, May 12).
Met Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended, but despite their best efforts the pedestrian – a man aged in his 40s – was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s family have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.
A Met Police spokesperson added that four men are believed to have been travelling in the car at the time of the collision. All have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They remain in police custody.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.40am on Sunday 12 May to reports of a road traffic collision in The Roundway. We sent resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic practitioner.
“We treated a man but sadly, despite our best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
