Man charged with conspiracy to murder as 45-year-old left with life-changing injuries after Ilford shooting

A man has been charged with conspiracy to murder in connection with an East London shooting, after he was extradited from Switzerland. Stewart Ahearne has been charged in connection with a shooting that happened in Woodford Green in 2019.

The 46-year-old, of no fixed address, was charged after a 45-year-old was shot in Malvern Drive on July 11, 2019. The victim has been left with serious, life-changing injuries as a result of the incident.

Ahearne, who was extradited back to the UK from Switzerland on March 21, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 22.

A second man has also been charged with conspiracy to murder in connection with the same incident.

Daniel Kelly, 46 of no fixed address, is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Wednesday, March 27.
