Jadon Sancho has thanked Chelsea and expressed his gratitude for the experience of spending last season on loan with the Blues.
football.london understands Sancho could not agree on personal terms with the west London club. As such, Manchester United will receive £5million from Chelsea, who, by doing so, will avoid their obligation to sign the player for up to £25million.
Sancho is now due to return to his parent club when the loan deal expires at the end of this month. However, any time spent back at Man United will seemingly be short amid the expectation of another move away materialising.
Ahead of leaving the Blues for pastures new, Sancho has acknowledged his impending departure on social media. “Grateful for the experience,” the message reads.
“Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home — teammates, staff and the fans. Wishing the club all the best moving forward.
“Truly grateful. Thank you, Blues.” Sancho punctuated the post with a blue heart and folded hands emoji.
Sharing the post on his Instagram story, the player repeated: “Thank you, Blues!” accompanied by another blue heart emoji.
Plenty of Chelsea players commented on the post. Reece James responded with a red heart emoji, while Pedro Neto sent a smiling face with a heart-eyes emoji and folded hands emoji.
“My guy,” Cole Palmer commented. Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo shared similar sentiments, saying “My darg” and “My brother!” respectively.
“Thanks for all broski,” Marc Guiu replied, with Robert Sanchez wishing him “all the best”. Wesley Fofana also did, responding, “Noooo, all the best, bro, love,” while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall added: “Naa, will miss you, man”.
Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka, Josh Acheampong, Malo Gusto, Marc Cucurella, Marcus Bettinelli, Moises Caicedo, Noni Madueke, Romeo Lavia, Shim Mheuka and Tyrique George also liked the post. As did former Blues players Omari Hutchinson and Tammy Abraham.
