A man wanted in relation to the theft of £8,697 has been arrested and bailed by police in East London, who found weed in a Kinder Egg pot on him.
The Met’s Romford SNT said on X yesterday (Tuesday, March 26): “Eagle eyed officers on foot patrol spotted a male in possession of a Kinder Egg Pot which was found to contain cannabis! Checks revealed the male was wanted for a theft totaling £8,697.
“The male was subsequently arrested.”

A spokesperson for the force told MyLondon earlier today (Wednesday, March 27): “A 31 year old man was arrested for possession of cannabis on Monday, March 25 following a stop search on Main Road. A small quantity of cannabis was found in the man’s possession.
“Further enquiries revealed the man was also wanted in relation to a theft totalling £8,697. The man has been bailed in connection with the theft whilst the case is reviewed by Crown Prosecution Service.
“The cannabis concluded with a Community Resolution.”
This is an official warning and provide police with ‘a proportionate method of responding to lower level and less serious allegations of crime’.
