A person was hospitalised following a crash on a busy road in Hackney earlier today (July 1). They were involved in a collision on Lower Clapton Road just before 8.40am and taken to a major trauma centre by paramedics.
The nature and severity of their injuries has not yet been confirmed. Pictures taken at the scene show a cordon in place between the junctions of Median Road and Urswick Road.
Traffic was moving slowly as a result, with congestion reported towards Homerton High Street and down to Hackney Downs. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area, if possible.
A number of bus routes were also on diversion, including the 38 to Clapton Pond and the 106 to Finsbury Park.
