July 1 marks a key date in the football calendar as a number of players will become free agents. That will very much be the case at Tottenham as the likes of Fraser Forster, Alfie Whiteman and Sergio Reguilon will no longer be classed as Spurs players from Tuesday following the conclusion of their contracts.

With some stars set to be officially out of contract and available on free transfers, it is a market many clubs could look to explore as they get their plans in place for the 2025/26 campaign. Tottenham have been active in the market this summer after signing Mathys Tel permanently and securing a deal for Kawasaki Frontale defender Kota Takai.

However, fans now want the club to step up their transfer dealings for new boss Thomas Frank as rival clubs have already made big moves in the summer market. So are there any free agents Tottenham should consider come Tuesday? football.london takes a look below.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin confirmed his departure from Everton on Sunday amid question marks over whether he would remain on Merseyside or not. His exit comes after nine years with the club.

Injuries have proved troublesome for the 28-year-old in recent seasons but he has displayed during his time with the Toffees that he knows where the back of the net is, most notably in the 2020/21 season under Carlo Ancelotti where he scored 16 goals in 33 Premier League games. On his day, Calvert-Lewin is a very good striker who can hold the ball up well and dominate in the air.

As a homegrown player, he could be a very good option for Tottenham to compete with Dominic Solanke. However, his injury record may put a few clubs off, with Spurs themselves having a wretched record of injuries last term.

Kyle Walker-Peters

Tottenham could do with a bit of extra cover in the full-back positions ahead of the 2025/26 season. Pedro Porro and Djed Spence are the right-back options available to the head coach, with the latter also able to cover – and perhaps delivering his best performances – at left-back when he has started ahead of Destiny Udogie.

Former Tottenham player Kyle Walker-Peters is another player who can operate either as a right-back or left-back following his time with Southampton. The 28-year-old will be a free agent come Tuesday and he could prove to be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham.

Not only can he play for Frank down either flank, Walker-Peters would also help Tottenham out with their club-trained player numbers when it comes to the Champions League as goalkeeper Brandon Austin looks set to be the only player in that category when the club really need four to ensure they can name a full 25-man squad in Europe.

Nelson Semedo

Nelson Semedo is another right-back who is set to be available on a free transfer with his stay at Wolves coming to an end. The 31-year-old has a wealth of Premier League experience to his name and he also played 44 times on the international stage for Portugal.

Semedo could be a good option to provide cover at right-back but the fact he turns 32 in Novembers means he maybe isn’t the age profile Tottenham are looking at as they plan for the future. His non-homegrown status would also prove problematic unless Spurs make some key changes in that area ahead of the new term.
