The eight transfers Arsenal could complete next week as Andrea Berta eyes incomings and outgoings

Arsenal are expected to be extremely busy in the transfer window in the coming days as the squad prepares to fly to Asia for the club’s pre-season tour.

Mikel Arteta, his staff and the Gunners players will jet off to Singapore on Saturday, July 19 ahead of games against AC Milan and Newcastle. They will then travel to Hong Kong where they will face north London rivals Tottenham on July 31.

New sporting director Andrea Berta has already secured the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who have been hard at work in La Manga as pre-season preparations step up a notch. There’s an expectation that more arrivals will be confirmed in the coming days, with Noni Madueke perhaps the closest of the targets to signing.

The Gunners have agreed a £52million deal with Chelsea to sign the tricky winger, who has left the Blues’ Club World Cup squad to finalise the move. Madueke could be one of three potential incomings, though, as football.london understands Arteta wants his new centre-forward to be on the plane going to Asia on July 19 and, at this stage, that looks increasingly likely to be Viktor Gyokeres.

Gyokeres has failed to appear for Sporting’s pre-season training as he looks to force through a move. The 27-year-old, who scored 54 goals last season in 52 appearances, is valued at around £70million with both Arsenal and Sporting still negotiating over the fee. Personal terms are already thought to have been agreed.

Interestingly, according to football writer and broadcaster Henry Winter, the club could complete six more deals in the coming days. One of those could be signing Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, who is keen to sign for the Premier League side this summer, football.london understands. Berta has already seen a bid rejected for the 21-year-old but it appears likely that another offer could be made very soon.

Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard, Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko could all leave the club too, according to Winter. Writing on X, the journalist said: “On train into Kings X for @talkSPORT show. Should be a good week for Arsenal. Madueke and Mosquera in. Gyokeres fee virtually agreed, just at the add-on debating stage, plus dealing with agent’s substantial cut (and Arsenal being strong on that point).

“Gyokeres obviously v keen to go to Arsenal (and will need a contrite farewell letter to Sporting). Maybe needs to have another word with his agent – get the deal done. Also busy week on potential outgoings, generating income from Kiwior, Nelson, Trossard, Vieira, Zinchenko.”

With spending big on the likes of Kepa, Zubimendi and Norgaard already, and potentially Madueke, Gyokeres and Mosquera, it’s clear that some players will need to be moved on to recoup some money. Arteta will want the deals completed as quickly as possible so players are not coming and going during the pre-season tour of Asia. It could be a very big week for Arsenal, Arteta and Berta.
