Roy Keane makes Premier League title ‘favourites’ admission after Man City vs Arsenal

Roy Keane has named Liverpool as the ‘real winners’ after Manchester City and Arsenal ended in a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium on Easter Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Liverpool had moved to the top of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion, thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

Despite Manchester City dominating much of their match against the Gunners, it was Gabriel Jesus who came closest to breaking the deadlock. The result leaves Liverpool two points clear of Arsenal and three ahead of the defending champions.

Keane believes that Jurgen Klopp’s team are now the favourites for the title. “Liverpool are the real winners of today, obviously winning and watching these two teams draw,” he said.

The football expert said: “Arsenal, good team shape or whatever, clean sheet, but when you’re looking at the standards City have set themselves the last seven years – particularly De Bruyne and Foden – when they don’t quite reach that level you’re disappointed.”

“We take it for granted that these brilliant players will turn up, they’ve had an off day and will just have to take the point. I’m not sure it will be good enough at the end of the season for City.”

Later on, he said again that he thinks Liverpool might win the title, and joked: “I think I need a drink.”
