An update has emerged about Arsenal’s potential interest in signing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

The Gunners have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, with six new signings already confirmed ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Mikel Arteta has added Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera and Kepa Arrizabalaga to the Arsenal squad as he looks to improve on last season’s second-place finish in the Premier League.

Eze has been linked with a move to Arsenal for some time and could be the next new signing confirmed by the Gunners if some of the latest reports are to be believed.

The BBC have reported that Arsenal still have an interest in signing Eze but would have to complete another transfer before pursuing a deal for the England international.

It has been claimed that Arsenal would look to sell one of their forward players before looking into bringing Eze to the Emirates Stadium. Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus have all been tentatively linked with moves away from the Gunners at various times this summer.

The report goes on to say that Arsenal are quickly running out of time to activate a release clause in Eze’s contract. The Palace star is reported to have a £68million clause in his deal, which expires today (August 1).

It remains to be seen what Arsenal will have planned when it comes to making an attempt to sign Eze.

If the report turns out to be true, then it seems very unlikely the Gunners will be able to strike a deal in time to activate the £68million release.

As a result, Arsenal may be forced to negotiate a fee with Palace for Eze if they want to bring the playmaker to the Emirates.
