Live: Person stabbed on Hackney Road with street shut by police for investigation

A person was stabbed in the early hours of this morning (Wendesday, April 3). They were found at the scene with stab injuries and rushed to hospital.

Hackney Road has been shut due to the ongoing investigation.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1:34 this morning (April 3) to reports of a stabbing on Hackney Road, E2. We sent resources to the scene, including Ambulance Crews, an incident response officer, and members of our tactical response unit.

“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by car. We treated a patient at the scene before taking him them to major trauma centre.”

The A1208 Hackney Road is closed in both directions between Ravenscroft Street and Cremer Street/Diss Street due to the incident. According to traffic updating site Inrix, this closure is causing long delays in the area. There are diversions in place for buses. Bus routes 26 and 55 have been impacted.
