Jedward slams “cold-hearted” Louis Walsh after ‘cruel’ Celebrity Big Brother comment

Boyband Jedward, who found fame on ITV’s X Factor in 2009, has slammed former mentor Louise Walsh after he made a ‘cruel’ comment about them on Celebrity Big Brother. John and Edward Grimes, collectively known as Jedward, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to lash out at the music manager.

It comes as the 71-year-old blasted the Irish duo during Tuesday night’s (March 12) episode of Celebrity Big Brother. While discussing his time on X Factor with Coronation star and fellow housemate Colson Smith, Louis took no time making digs with the pair, who he managed from 2009 to 2013.

When asked what it was like working with Jedward, Louis said: “They were vile, but they were great. I got five million quid for them, I swear on my mother’s life.”

He added: “But they were vile. But they were novelty, it was great for the show, and it was all about the show.”

Many viewers were quick to head online and defend the quirky duo in the wake of Louis’ comments. And it didn’t take long for John and Edward themselves to hit back.

In a heartbreaking claim, the pair wrote: “Louis Walsh is a cold-hearted b****** who didn’t even send us flowers when our mom died.” Suzannah, their mother, sadly passed away in 2019 from cancer.

The twins previously said their mum was their “biggest fan”. They also said she “wanted us to go out there and express ourselves”.

It comes after reports earlier on Tuesday that Sharon would leave the show amid the second eviction of the series. “Tuesday will be Sharon’s last day in the Celebrity Big Brother house,” a source close to the show told MailOnline.

“She had made it clear from the beginning that she was only staying on the show for a short duration but she has certainly made an long-lasting impact. As always, family comes first and Sharon needs to be back with her husband Ozzy but she will be missed by her housemates, especially as they say goodbye to another celebrity during tonight’s eviction.”

Celebrity Big Brother airs on ITV and ITVX. Louis Walsh representatives have been contacted for comment.
