Manchester City’s Kyle Walker had to be substituted due to a hamstring injury just minutes into England’s friendly with Brazil on Saturday.

Walker, who was making his 82nd appearance for the Three Lions, limped off less than 20 minutes into the game after clearing a shot from Vinicius Jr that was close to scoring.

Despite trying to shake off the injury, he was replaced by Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa. It’s unclear if Walker will be fit for England’s next match against Belgium on Tuesday (March 26).

He joins Harry Kane, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Bukayo Saka, who were also unable to play during England’s international break due to injuries.

Pep Guardiola, the Man City boss, will also be concerned as Walker is a key player in their quest for another Treble. The defender has appeared 38 times for the Citizens this season, becoming one of Guardiola’s most important players.

City will be hoping that Walker’s suspected hamstring injury isn’t serious enough to rule him out of next weekend’s Premier League title race clash with Arsenal.
