Body language expert Judi James says William looks more like his ‘old self’ in recent pictures. The Prince of Wales was recently snapped with Taylor Swift at Wembley
A body language expert said Prince William is looking like his “old self” after he was snapped enjoying a Taylor Swift concert with children Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
A grinning picture of the Prince of Wales, Charlotte, George and Taylor was released this week. Each of the royals and the reigning queen of pop looked happy in the image and William was spotted showing his dance moves at the concert. Body language expert Judi James said William showed an “outburst of pent-up emotions that erupted joyfully at the Taylor Swift concert.”
She added that the “Constant touches and gestures of maternal-style support and care from his three ‘fairy godmothers’ Zara, Carole and Sophie at Ascot seem to have re-energised William, who is back on royal duties looking more like his old self after all the months of what must have been worry about Kate.”
The Princess of Wales is continuing to focus on her recovery, making her first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis at Trooping the Colour this month. Her illness comes at a stressful time for the royal family given King Charles III’s own cancer diagnosis.
In a video before Trooping the Colour, Kate said she was learning to be “patient, especially with uncertainty.” She added thay she was “Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal,” but that she is not “out of the woods yet.” The Princess said she would carry out work, while the Palace added plans could change at the last minute.
Today, William greeted Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and his wife Empress Masako before travelling to Horse Guards Parade where they received a Ceremonial Welcome after being met by the King and Queen. William was seen greeting the Emperor and Empress of Japan at their London hotel amid their state visit to the UK.
Judi said William’s “Bashful smile and his ‘fig leaf’ pose with the Japanese Emperor and Empress here combine, along with his head tilt in their direct, to create a politely welcoming greeting despite the obvious differences in height.”
She added: “His hand shake with the Empress seems to involve a head bow and eye contact with raised brows to again show signals of a friendly approach.” Judi also said that Queen Camilla appeared to showed signs of anxiety for her husband, the King. The King is still undergoing treatment for cancer. Later this evening, the King and Queen will reunite with the Emperor and his wife for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace held especially in their honour and featuring a glamorous white tie dress code that often sees royal women sport tiaras.
Judi said: “Camilla and Charles reflect that friendliness although Camilla also showed signs of inner nerves or anxiety, holding onto the side of the coach and even seeming to accidentally tap her hat brim as she went to wave. She has been showing signs of trying to urge her husband gently but firmly to keep appearances and meetings as short as possible and her concern might be showing in these hints of anxiety.
“Charles does look rather pale and tired here despite his smiles, suggesting he might like to bow to his wife’s caring urging now and again, despite the fact the royal Firm is badly depleted right now.”
On Sunday, Princess Anne was taking to hospital after suffering concussion and minor injuries to her head after she was was reportedly kicked by a horse on her Gatcombe Park estate. The 73-year-old will miss several engagements this week, including the state banquet and an overseas tour to Canada, which was due to start this weekend.
