Ange Postecoglou is holding his press conference after Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-1 draw at West Ham in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

Postecoglou made a triple change to the side that overcame Luton Town 2-1 at home on Saturday to bring in some fresh legs with just two full recovery days in between the matches. David Moyes’ Hammers let a 3-1 lead slip to fall to a 4-3 defeat at Newcastle earlier that same day.

Spurs have not won away at West Ham since November 2019 in Jose Mourinho’s first game at the north London club and they came into this game knowing a victory would put the pressure on Aston Villa, who travel to Manchester City on Wednesday. Micky van de Ven came back into the team after being an unused substitute on Saturday, having recovered from his hamstring injury, and replaced Radu Dragusin.

Brennan Johnson also came back into his starting line-up after another impressive showing from the bench against Luton, replacing. Dejan Kulusevski. Rodrigo Bentancur also came in to give Pape Matar Sarr a rest.

It was Johnson who opened the scoring just four minutes in and it was a classic Postecoglou goal. Spurs broke up the pitch and Timo Werner fired a low ball across the six-yard box and the Wales international was in the right position to tap home the side’s first first-half goal in seven matches.

West Ham scored an equaliser not long after though when Kurt Zouma headed home a Jarrod Bowen corner. Neither side could find a winner in the second half.
