Man City hit with Erling Haaland injury scare with Arsenal title clash just 12 days away

Manchester City have been hit with a big injury worry as the final international break of the season begins, with Erling Haaland seen limping in training.

The forward was substituted in the second half against Newcastle during City’s routine FA Cup quarter-final victory on Saturday, sparking injury fears. However, Pep Guardiola played down these concerns and urged his players to be cautious while on international duty.

“He is not my player anymore from now on, what they will decide will be fine,” he said. “They know that they fought a lot and train a lot, a lot of adrenaline and concentration to arrive in this position.

“They know they are friendly games and they have to handle it wisely. Hopefully they can do it.”

But videos of Haaland bent over in pain during Norway training, holding his knees and walking slowly around the practice pitches have caused immediate concern for Arsenal’s title rivals. The striker tried to play through the discomfort but didn’t seem to be moving well.

In a video shared on X, after hobbling around for 10 seconds, he shook his head and bent over in apparent pain. Haaland will now be hoping to recover fully for matches against Czech Republic and Slovakia in the coming week. The clip was shared by @StatCity, who said the striker had ‘limped out’ of the training session.
