Supercomputer predicts Arsenal Premier League title race chaos ahead of run-in

Following news of Nottingham Forest’s points deduction from the Premier League, a Supercomputer has provided a fresh prediction on Arsenal’s chances of winning the title.

The East Midlands club have been deducted four points by the top flight for breaking Financial Fair Play rules and have now dropped into the relegation zone. While the Gunners are in no danger of being relegated to the Championship, Forest’s points deduction could have a knock-on effect on the title race.

Arsenal will face Everton on the final day of the season, a game which could be easier or harder depending on whether the Toffees are safe going into the encounter. Following today’s Forest punishment, the Supercomputer BETSiE has taken a look at how the Premier League table is predicted to look come the end of the season.

The new calculations prove to be good news for Arsenal as they are predicted to win the Premier League amassing 86 points in the process. This is a lead of just a point over Liverpool, who currently sit second behind Mikel Arteta’s team on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are predicted to finish third in the table, dropping three points behind the Gunners. However, because of how tight it is, it would be almost guaranteed that Arsenal would need a positive result on the final day of the campaign to lift the title.

BETSiE has also worked out the probabilities for each club’s Premier League title-winning chances. The Gunners are favourites with a 47.5 per cent chance of winning the league, followed by Liverpool with a 36.6 per cent chance while City have just a 16 per cent chance of retaining their title despite being only a point worse off.
