Manchester City striker Erling Haaland limped out of Norway training on Tuesday but injury worries have been played down.

Arsenal take on Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad on Sunday, March 31 with the chance to go four points clear of City in the Premier League title race. The Gunners currently lead the table ahead of Liverpool on goal difference with 64 points, while the Citizens sit third on 63 points.

And City fans will have been worried at the sight of this season’s top goalscorer Haaland limping off injured while in training with his national team. However, Norway’s team doctor is reported to have said there is nothing to worry about.

“Haaland limped out of Norway training earlier but the team doctor, speaking to (Norwegian broadcaster) TV2, says “no problem,” Sam Lee of The Athletic said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Haaland missed five league games for City between October and January due to injury. However, that has not stopped him from scoring 29 goals in all competitions so far this season.

The Gunners will be all-too-aware of the threat City’s leading goalscorer possesses after he scored in both league fixtures between the two teams last season. But Arsenal will have some confidence at having shut the Norway striker out in October’s 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

When discussing his form back in February, the striker sent an ominous message to City’s title rivals. He also pointed out the impact of Kevin de Bruyne, although the Belgian is also an injury doubt for the Arsenal game.

“Kevin de Bruyne is massive. He is doing what he is best at. It’s a pleasure playing with him. We know what we both want from each other. it clicks well. He is a smart player and I like to play with him,” Haaland said.

“My fitness? I am getting back to my best. Finally I am feeling good. It’s an amazing feeling. It’s coming, we’re coming. Exciting times ahead. We are ready to attack.”
